The Republican Olympiad in Chemistry named after. K.I. Satpayev for 9th grade students.
The Olympics took place from October 30 to November 2, and the main venue for the event was the Zhezkazgan school-lyceum No. 7 named after. K.I. Satpayeva. In total, 75 participants competed in the intellectual competition: 68 students from all 17 regions of Kazakhstan and from 3 cities of republican significance, as well as 2 participants each from branches of the Republican School of Physics and Mathematics in Almaty and Astana and 3 participants from the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Chemical and Biological directions. The most representative team, 12 people, was from the host region, the Ulytau region. The schoolchildren were accompanied by more than 30 teacher-mentors.
The tasks for the participants were divided into two stages — theoretical and practical, they took place on October 31 and November 1, respectively. At the first stage, schoolchildren solved problems of increased complexity, and at the second stage they carried out independent laboratory work to identify chemical substances by their properties.
In their free time, the guests visited the Zhezkazgan Music and Drama Theater named after. S. Kozhamkulov, as well as the historical-archaeological and historical-industrial museums of Zhezkazgan. On November 1, they were waiting for a trip to the house-museum of K. Satpayev in the village of Karsakpai and the museum of the history of mining and smelting in the village of Zhezdy.
On November 2, in the solemn atmosphere of the House of Friendship and Culture of Nations, the results of the Olympiad were summed up. The jury, consisting of seven chemists, was headed by Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Professor of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry of KazNU. al-Farabi, full member of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kurmangali Batyrbekovich Bekishev.
1st degree diplomas and a gold medal were awarded to 7 people, 2nd degree to 10, 3rd degree to 18 more Olympiad participants. For a complete list of medalists, see the file “1-3 oryn for the press.”
A first degree diploma, a gold medal and a Grand Prix, established by the Kazakhmys Corporation, were awarded to Aren Tenizbaev, a student at the Bilim-Innovation boarding lyceum for gifted children No. 9 named after S. Shaukhamanov, Kyzylorda region, who received the maximum score of 92.15 .
Representatives of the Ulytau region took 3 prizes: a 2nd degree diploma and a silver medal were won by a student of the boarding lyceum «Bilim-Innovation» for gifted children No. 3 Alan Sarkyt, 3rd degree diplomas and a bronze medal were won by a student of Zhezkazgan gymnasium No. 8 Alua Asylbekkyzy and a student of the school — Lyceum No. 7 named after. K.I. Satpayeva Nurali Altai.
The challenge cup from the Canadian Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan was awarded to the “Best Team” team from the city of Astana, its average score was 78.08.
In addition, three people from among the participants became holders of grants from the Kazakh National Technical University. K.I. Satpayev, which will allow them to study at this university after graduating from high school. The “lucky” ones were representatives of three new regions of the republic: a student of gymnasium No. 6 in Semey Zhalgas Kendirbekov, a student of specialized lyceum No. 24 named after M. Aryn in Taldykorgan Kamshat Zakirzhan and a student of Zhezkazgan gymnasium No. 8 Alua Asylbekkyzy.
The organizers of the Olympiad were the Ministry of Education and the Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn”, the Akimat and the Education Department of the Ulytau region. The integrator of all organizational processes was the Public Foundation “The Ulytau Educational Foundation” with the financial support of Kazakhmys Corporation LLP.
