The ULYTAU Intellectual Board Game

The game is compiled in three languages and allows you to explore the history of Kazakhstan from ancient times to the present day in an interactive and competitive way
The ULYTAU intellectual board game is an author's project of the history teacher, vice-principal of the Canadian International School Astana, Raushan Akimbekova.

The purpose of creating an innovative educational game is to form national consciousness and respect for the historical heritage through the popularization of the centuries-old history of Kazakh people, as well as key historical events and great personalities who determined the fate of the country from ancient times to the present day.

The ULYTAU intellectual board game has already established itself among schoolchildren. Children note that while playing, they remember historical facts better, and the game helps high school students prepare for the UNT (Unified National Test). There are currently 120 questions about the history of Kazakhstan in three languages. The game was developed on behalf of the “Public Foundation “Charitable Foundation “The Ulytau Educational Foundation” in Kazakh, Russian, and English.

I City Tournament
In November 2024, the first city championship of the ULYTAU intellectual board game was held among 9th-grade students, with participation from more than 40 schools of Astana.

The event was organized by: Canadian International School Astana, The Ulytau Educational Foundation, and the Center for Identification and Support of Gifted Children and Talented Youth “Astana Daryny” under the Akimat of Astana.

I Regional Tournament
In March 2025, the first regional tournament of the ULYTAU intellectual board game among schoolchildren took place in Zhezkazgan (Ulytau Region).

The event was organized by The Ulytau Educational Foundation, Canadian International School Astana, the Department of Education of the Ulytau Region, and the Ulytau Daryny Center.

A total of 50 9th-grade students from the Ulytau Region participated in the tournament. The game was conducted in three languages: Kazakh, Russian, and English.

II City Tournament
In December 2025, the II City Tournament of the ULYTAU intellectual board game among 9th-grade students was held in Astana.

The event was organized by: Canadian International School Astana, The Ulytau Educational Foundation, and the Center for Identification and Support of Gifted Children and Talented Youth “Astana Daryny” under the Akimat of Astana.

Students from 38 schools of Astana participated in the tournament.
