2026-03-03 11:54
Today, ninth-grade students gathered to test their knowledge of history, demonstrate strategic thinking, and engage more deeply with their national heritage. The tournament is conducted in three languages — Kazakh, Russian, and English.
The author of the Ulytau board game is Raushan Kanatovna Akimbekova, a history teacher, teacher-researcher, and Deputy Director for Academic Affairs at Canadian International School Astana. Her professional expertise and implementation of modern educational methodologies successfully combine academic knowledge with game-based learning, making the study of history deeper and more meaningful.
The main goal of the tournament is to foster national identity and respect for the historical heritage of the Kazakh people through the promotion of its centuries-old history.
This is not just an intellectual competition — it is a meaningful contribution to the development of quality education and the upbringing of a thoughtful new generation.
An inspiring atmosphere, the excitement of the participants, and a true intellectual battle — this is how the tournament will be remembered!
During the first two rounds, participants answered questions in Kazakh, Russian, and English. In the semifinal and final rounds, the questions were presented in English, while participants could respond in Kazakh, Russian, or English. This format allowed students to demonstrate not only their in-depth knowledge of the history of Kazakhstan, but also a high level of language proficiency.
The Grand Prix winner received the Ulytau board game as a prize, while the runners-up were awarded valuable gifts.
