Strategic Session: Communication, Responsibility, and Leadership Thinking

Second Day of the Strategic Session for Education Leaders Focuses on Practice

The second day of the strategic session for education leaders became a practical continuation of the topics raised at the opening of the program. Participants delved into issues of effective communication, a culture of accountability, and leadership mindset in decision-making.

Trainer Sezim Shorina, an expert in personal and team effectiveness, conducted a series of interactive exercises and role-playing cases focused on active listening, managing difficult conversations, and building trust-based relationships within teams.

Special attention was given to the themes of personal and team accountability. Participants emphasized the importance of acknowledging mistakes and transforming them into tools for growth rather than sources of fear.

Raisa Yeshimova, Director of the Project Management Department at The Ulytau Educational Foundation, highlighted:
“A culture of accountability begins with the leader. When a leader is open to dialogue and able to acknowledge their own mistakes, they create trust and strengthen the team.”

Using the DISC model and generational theory, participants explored different communication and behavior styles, learned to identify employees’ strengths, and selected effective interaction strategies.

As Sezim Shorina noted, “A true leader is someone who not only inspires, but also listens, makes conscious decisions, and takes responsibility for them.”

In the second half of the day, the program continued with a series of expert presentations.
Ruslan Karatabanov spoke about modern approaches to managing the quality of education; Azamat Yeshmukhametov discussed the application of artificial intelligence in educational environments; and Miramkul Ilyassova shared practical aspects of school accreditation.

At the conclusion of the session, Marina Khan, Director of the Charitable Foundation “The Ulytau Educational Foundation,” presented certificates to participants and thanked them for their active engagement:
“This session demonstrated that the development of education begins with the development of leaders. We are building not just a system, but a community of professionals who know how to learn, adapt, and lead others.”

The strategic session brought together leaders, experts, and trainers, creating a space for professional growth and the exchange of ideas. The outcomes of the two-day program became a starting point for new joint projects and initiatives that the Foundation and Ustaz Ulytau plan to implement in the near future.
