International Scientific and Practical Conference in Atyrau

The international scientific and practical conference “Career Education in an Era of Change: From Regional Challenges to Systemic Solutions” has concluded in Atyrau. For one day, the event brought together education, business, and experts around a shared goal: helping young people look to the future with confidence.

Nearly 300 participants—school principals, teachers, career guidance specialists, representatives of colleges, universities, companies, and research centers—discussed how to build a career education system that truly works amid rapid change. Discussions focused on how schools and employers can become partners, how to identify students’ interests and abilities, and how to prepare young people for a labor market where lifelong learning is essential.

The plenary session featured speakers from the education system, business sector, and international schools. They emphasized that a conscious career choice begins where dialogue exists—where students gain exposure to real industries, receive honest information about labor market requirements, and can begin to envision their future professional roles.

The conference continued with a series of panel discussions, moving from broad concepts to practical solutions. Together with experts from the career services of Canadian International School Astana, participants explored how to implement modern career guidance tools in schools, which practices are already effective in the region, how to build sustainable partnerships between educational institutions and employers, and what modern companies expect from future specialists. Each panel became a platform for lively exchange: school leaders shared practical insights, business representatives spoke about industry needs, and experts presented new approaches to developing students’ career pathways.

Special attention was given to the roundtable discussion “Together Toward the Future: The Role of School–Business Partnerships in Helping Youth Adapt to Modern Career Trends and Challenges.” Representatives of the corporate sector of the Atyrau region, researchers, and leaders of educational initiatives discussed current trends, the motivation of Kazakhstani youth, and the importance of effective school–industry collaboration.

The conference demonstrated that when education, business, and civil society join forces, young people gain what matters most—support, guidance, and real opportunities for a confident start into the future.

The organizers express their gratitude to all participants and partners. Together, we are moving toward a system in which students choose their professions with a clear understanding of their strengths and real career prospects.
